AIDAperla is the second of the newest AIDA Cruises vessels, which is scheduled for delivery in 2017 with maiden voyage in mid-September. The cruise ship is under construction by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in their Nagaski shipyard in Japan with expected christening in end of June. the vessel is built in compliance with the latest IMO standards and implementing the most modern marine engineering technologies. AIDAperla has overall length of 300.00 m, moulded beam of 37.00 m and maximum draft of 8.25 m. The deadweight of the cruise ship is 9,700 DWT and the gross tonnage is 124,500 GRT. The vessel has 1,643 cabins and capacity for 3,286 passengers in double occupancy with maximum to 3,400 people. AIDAperla has 18 decks and 16 of them are open for the guests, offering comfortable accommodation area and a lot of great attractions.
The engineering of the cruise ship AIDAperla is highly efficient and reliable, consisted of three Caterpillar 12V M43C diesel units, each with power of 12,670 hp, one dual-fuel Caterpillar M46DF with power of 11,650 hp and generator Caterpillar 3516B with power of 2,250 kW. The output power of the engineering is transmitted to the diesel-electric propulsion system, which has two ABB Azipod thrusters. With such powerful and reliable engineering, the cruise ship has service speed 22.0 kts. The cruise ship AIDAperla uses Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’s proprietary Mitsubishi Air Lubrication System (MALS), which releases small air bubbles to cover the bottom of the vessel, reducing the friction between the hull and the ocean water, reducing the CO2 emissions and fuel consumption by more than 7%.
The guests on board of AIDAperla have the possibility to choose the perfect cabin out of 14 different categories. There are Lanai staterooms with an own winter garden, which are offering large living area and really wonderful seaview. The outside staterooms with a walk-in closet. All the staterooms have separated shower and bathroom, being bright and modern furnished. The attractions on board of AIDAperla include a covered beach club, indoor and outdoor (infinity) pools, a lazy river and two glass skywalks. The Activity Deck offers various activities such as a climbing area, waterslides, a miniature golf-court and a cinema. Furthermore the newest ship in the fleet of Aida Cruises offers a choice of 14 restaurants, 3 snackbars and 14 cafes and bars.
