Cape Hayatomo

Cape HayatomoThe ore carrier Cape Hayatomo is one of the newest and most modern vessels, built by Imari Shipyard & Works and delivered to shipowner in May 2017. The ore carrier has deadweight of 250,460 DWT and gross tonnage of 135,933 GRT, designed with improved cargo capacity and optimized for the three major loading ports of iron ore in Western Australia. The ship Cape Hayatomo has overall length of 329.95 m, moulded beam of 57.00 m and depth of 25.60 m. The vessel achieves large deadweight and cargo capacity with shallow draft of 18.00 m, improving efficiency for cargo
loading and unloading with adaption of seven holds and seven hatches. Cape Hayatomo is designed with improved profitability and capability to operate in the most important ore exporting ports. The mooring arrangement also satisfies the requirement of Ponta Da Madeira in Brazil, which is significant and important destination for such ore carrier.

The engineering of the ore carrier Cape Hayatomo is reliable and powerful, reducing the CO2 and NOx emissions for more environmental operations. The main engine is MAN B&W 6G80ME-C9.5, which has total output power of 37,900 hp. Such power is enough for the ship to operate with service speed of 12.0 kts. The ore carrier complies with the latest requirements of the international rules and regulations, such as IMO convention for corrosion protection of water ballast tanks to increase safety of the vessel. For environmental protection, the vessel is equipped with a main engine and generator engine compliant with the Annex VI of MARPOL 73/78 regulations to reduce NOx emissions. An air seal type stern tube sealing device is adopted to reduce the risk of oil leakage, and low sulfur fuel oil tank is provided to satisfy the restrictions on SOx emissions.

The ore carrier Cape Hayatomo is operating under the flag of Panama. The vessel has IMO number 9749879, MMSI 374062000 and call sign 3EWK8.
