The ship was built in STX Europe Turku Shipyard in Finland and delivered to the shipowner in October 2009. At the date of delivery Oasis of the Seas became the largest cruise ship in the world. The vessel has overall length of 361.60 m, moulded beam of 47.00 m, depth of 22.50 m and maximum draft of 9.30 m. Oasis of the Seas has 16 passenger decks and capacity for 5,400 passengers at double occupancy plus 2,394 crew members. The deadweight of the cruise ship is 15,000 DWT, the gross tonnage is 225,282 GRT and the net tonnage is 242,999 NT. The ship features with a lot of great attractions and entertainments, providing high comfort for the guests on board.




The cruise ship Oasis of the Seas is powered by three 16-cylinder Wartsila 16V46D common rail engines, each with power of 25,290 hp, as well as three 12-cylinder Wartsila 12V46 engines with power of 18,590 hp each. The total output power of the engineering of the giant vessel is 131,640 hp, which allow operating with service speed of 22.5 kts. The propulsion is provided by three 20,000-kilowatt ABB Azipods, located under the stern, contain electric motors driving 6-meter propellers. The engineering of the cruise ship is powerful, reliable and highly economy, featuring with low CO2 and NOx emissions. The vessel is equipped with solar panels fitted by BAM Energy Group, which provide additional energy for lighting in the promenade and central park areas, making her more environment and ecological.

The cruise ship Oasis of the Seas was built larger not to end in itself to be the greatest, but to provide more comfort for the guests and more attractions in public areas. The ship’s focal point is her very own Central Park where the guests can stroll through the greenery and look above as passengers zip line over the park, nine decks up. The cruise vessel has seven neighborhoods and 25 dining options, all featuring with international cuisine and great style and atmosphere. Also among the most exciting attractions are the AquaTheater, Library, multiple night clubs, several bars and lounges, comedy club, Sport fields, theme parks and nurseries for children. Also on board there are five swimming pools, which have large capacity for all the passengers.
