AlexMotor tanker Alex is very large crude carrier, built in 2016 by Hyundai Heavy Industries in their shipyard in Gunsan, South Korea. The ship is implementing the most modern technologies and marine engineering developments for efficient and environment operations at sea. The overall length of the VLCC Alex is 333.00 m, moulded beam is 60.00 m, boards depth of 29.40 m and the maximum draft is 21.20 m. The deadweight of the crude carrier is 299,446 DWT, the gross tonnage is 154,379 GRT and the net tonnage is 107,704 NT. With such dimensions and tonnage the tanker Alex has capacity for 334,900 cbm of crude oil, spread in 15 tanks. The ship is designed with optimized cargo capacity and fitted with more powerful pumps for faster cargo handling operations in ports. The VLCC Alex is among the most modern and effective cargo ships operating nowadays.

The engineering of the tanker is reliable and environmental. The main engine of oil tanker Alex is Wartsila-Hyundai 7X82, which are 7-cylinder low-revolution engines, providing total output power of 44,500 hp. Such power, transmitted to fixed pitch propeller, allows the crude carrier to operate with service speed of 12.5 kts, while the maximum speed under ballast is 15.5 kts. Also on board of the tanker are installed three diesel generators, each with power of 1,750 kW. The ship is compliant with IMO Nitrogen oxides (NOx) Regulation 13, as well as Ballast Water Management convention. Special filters reduce CO2 emissions, but automatically controlled fuel injection at higher temperature achieves lower consumption and more effective operations.

The VLCC Alex is operating under the flag of Belgium with IMO number 9722924, MMSI 205692000 and call sign ONIQ.
