Hakusan

HakusanThe very large crude carrier (VLCC) Hakusan was built in 2011 by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in their shipyard in Nagasaki, Japan. The vessel has an overall length of 333.00 m and length between perpendiculars of 324.00 m, while the moulded beam is 60.00 m and depth is 29.10 m. The maximum summer draft of the crude carrier Hakusan is 20.80 at full cargo. With such measurements, the oil tanker has a deadweight of 305,350 DWT, gross tonnage of 160,059 GRT, and net tonnage of 100,926 NT, while the cargo capacity is 355,483 cub m. Such a large vessel can carry millions of barrels of crude oil and the environmental danger in case of shipping accident is rich, so the ship is designed with double hull construction, according to the latest requirements of IMO, CSR and MARPOL.

The engineering of very large crude carrier Hakusan is also reliable and economical, having low fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The main engine is Mitsubishi-UE 7UEC85LSII, which has a total output power of 36,220 hp, which allows the cargo ship to operate with a service speed of 15.5 kts. The shipbuilder implemented most modern technologies for zero-sulfur emissions, as well as decreasing the current green gas emissions. The ship has powerful engineering, which increases the propulsion power of the propeller, without the need of increasing the engine capacity. The ship has complied with the requirements of Chapter II-1, Part E of SOLAS for periodically unattended machinery spaces.

The very large crude carrier Hakusan is a Malacca-max ship, built with maximum allowed dimensions to operate through the Strait of Malacca. This is important for the range of operations and service of the tanker, as well as profitability.

The VLCC Hakusan is classified by the Japanese ClassNK register. The vessel has IMO number 9535058, MMSI 235087726, and call sign 2ESF4. The oil tanker Hakusan is operating under the flag of Isle Of Man (UK) with a homeport in Douglas. The ship is specialized for transportation of liquid cargo Hazard D.
